Effective date: August 8, 2026
CourtWatch is a companion experience for The Courtroom Files live programming. This policy explains what CourtWatch collects and how it is used.
Information We Collect
If you save a moment, CourtWatch may collect your email address, the video timestamp, the video ID, and any note you choose to enter. CourtWatch also uses a browser-generated session ID to support saved moments, polls, Case Calls, game completion validation, and basic viewer activity counts such as active viewers, recent viewers, page views, approximate time online, and mobile/desktop display information. Bingo cards and game progress are stored in your browser. If you choose a Court Arcade display name, that public label and accepted game wins are stored for alerts and leaderboards; anonymous play remains available. CourtWatch may also log glossary searches that do not find a match so we can improve the glossary.
How We Use Information
We use this information to operate CourtWatch, send saved-moment digest emails, show live interaction results, troubleshoot the beta, understand basic usage, and improve the viewer experience.
What We Do Not Do
We do not sell viewer personal information. We do not collect payment information through CourtWatch. We do not use saved-moment emails for unrelated marketing unless we ask for separate permission.
Service Providers
CourtWatch may use hosting, email delivery, and embedded video services to provide the experience. YouTube video and chat embeds are provided by YouTube/Google and may be subject to their own policies.
Your Choices
You can use CourtWatch without entering an email address or game display name, though saved-moment digest emails require an email address. You may change your Court Arcade display name or play anonymously at any time. You can clear local CourtWatch browser data through your browser settings. To ask about CourtWatch data, contact us at [email protected].
Data Retention
Saved moments and related email delivery records may be kept as needed to send digests, troubleshoot issues, and operate the beta. Beta data may be corrected or cleared as the product evolves.
Children
CourtWatch is not intended for children under 13.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards for CourtWatch data, but no online service can be guaranteed completely secure.
Changes
We may update this policy as CourtWatch changes. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
